You can use the transcript to edit your recording directly from the Editor. You can mute audio while keeping the video playing or correct words in the transcript. Transcript-based editing can help you quickly clean up mistakes, unwanted sections, or audio.
If you’d rather edit the transcript with My Producer, you can also use the My Producer chat interface from the Editor page.
Using the transcript
Follow the instructions below to edit your recording’s transcript.
Click Library from the left navigation menu.
From the Recordings tab, find the recording you’d like to edit and click the three-dot menu.
Click Edit.
The Transcript lists everything said by speaker and timestamp.
You can select words by clicking and dragging across them.
A floating toolbar appears with Mute, Create Clip, Correct Word, and Remove.
Click a single word to move the playhead there.
To jump to a specific time, click the Search icon, and type the word or phrase you want to find.
Tip: After making a change, play back the edited section to make sure the recording looks and sounds as expected.
Removing a word or section
Follow the instructions below to remove a word or section from your recording.
From the Editor page, click and drag to select the words or sections you want to remove in the transcript.
In the floating toolbar that appears, click Remove.
That selection will be removed from the audio and video.
The removed word or section will be crossed out in red in the transcript.
If you need to undo your changes, click Undo in the upper right corner. Click Redo to reapply a change.
Muting a word or a section
Follow the instructions below to muting a word or section from your recording.
From the Editor page, click and drag to select the words or section you want to mute in the transcript.
In the floating toolbar that appears, click Mute.
That selection will be muted from the audio, while the video keeps playing.
The muted word or section will be crossed out in the transcript.
If you need to undo your changes, click Undo in the upper right corner. Click Redo to reapply a change.
Correcting a word
Follow the instructions below to correct a word from your recording.
From the Editor page, find the words you want to correct in the transcript.
Click and drag to select the word you want to correct.
In the floating toolbar that appears, click Correct.
Type the correct word you want to use and click confirm.
Note: Correcting a word in the transcript will also apply to captions.
That selection will be muted from the audio, while the video keeps playing.
The corrected word will be highlighted blue in the transcript
If you need to undo your changes, click Undo in the upper right corner. Click Redo to reapply a change.
