Publishing your video podcast on YouTube lets you engage your audience with both visuals and audio. With Zencastr's YouTube integration you can upload full video episodes directly to your YouTube channel, no manual uploads required.
YouTube works differently from other podcast directories, so this guide covers those differences and walks you through submitting your podcast.
Note: if your podcast is only audio, use the instructions in this support article instead.
Key considerations for YouTube distribution
Show and episode updates
YouTube imports your show and episodes once, then caches them. New episodes published through the integration are sent automatically, but edits to your show or to already published episodes must be made directly in YouTube.
Analytics
YouTube measures views, not downloads, so its numbers aren't included in your overall podcast analytics. To track performance on YouTube, check YouTube's own analytics.

Related questions
Can I upload my past episodes to YouTube via the Zencastr integration?
No. YouTube limits how many videos a channel can upload every 24 hours, so only episodes published after you connect your account will upload. Previously published episodes can't be sent through the integration.
If I replace the video for an episode that I already published to YouTube, will it update there?
No. YouTube doesn't accept edits from outside its platform for podcasts distributed via API, and replacing a video isn't possible even within YouTube itself. To update a published episode, use YouTube's editor to edit the existing video, or upload the new file as a separate video and delete or unlist the original. For more details on this, see this YouTube article.
