Use this guide to submit your new podcast to Spotify for the first time.
Before You Start - Preparing
To submit to Spotify you will need to have:
Created a show and published at least one episode to your podcast.
Access to your Zencastr account and RSS Feed.
1. Create/Log Into Spotify Account
Creating a Spotify account is the first step to get your show listed.
If you already have a Spotify account, log into Spotify for Podcasters with that account.
If you don’t have a Spotify account, create one.
2. Submit RSS Feed to Spotify
Next, submit your RSS Feed to Spotify via your Zencastr account.
In Zencastr:
On your Dashboard, click the Episodes tab on the left sidebar menu.
Click the arrow icon to the right of the show title.
Click the orange RSS feed icon.
Under ‘Destinations’, click +Connect next to Spotify.
Click Submit Your Podcast to Spotify.
Result: The Spotify For Podcasters site will open. If it is your first time using it, you may need to complete some additional fields to create your account.
In Spotify:
Click your avatar (profile picture) in the upper right corner.
Select I already have a podcast.
Paste your Zencastr RSS Feed into the ‘RSS field link’.
Click Next.
3. Verify Ownership
In Spotify:
Click Send Code.
Open your email client (e.g. Gmail, Outlook).
Copy the code in the “Your Spotify For Podcasters Code” email.
Paste the code in the Verification Code’ field.
Click Next.
4. Complete Show Information
In Spotify, complete the requested information:
Select the country where your podcast is made.
Select the primary language spoken in your podcast.
Select the primary category for your podcast.
Choose subcategories for your podcast.
5. Review and Submit
Review all the information and click Submit.
What happens next: Spotify reviews your podcast submission. It usually takes a few hours to a few days for them to review and approve your podcast. Once approved, your podcast will automatically be listed on their apps.
Add Your Spotify Show Link to Zencastr
Add your Spotify show link in Zencastr to keep track of where your show is distributed and to add a link to your show’s Spotify listing on your Zencastr show page.
In a Spotify app:
On your show page click the 3-dot icon.
Click Share.
Click Copy Show Link.
In Zencastr:
On your Dashboard, click the Episodes tab on the left sidebar menu.
Under ‘Destinations’, click +Connect next to Spotify.
Copy your Spotify show link in the ‘Already have your show on Spotify?’ field.
Click Link.

How long does it take for Spotify to list my podcast?
It typically takes a few hours to a few days for your podcast to be reviewed and listed on Spotify. Although Spotify doesn't send an email confirmation once it is listed, you can check its status by logging into your Spotify for Podcasters account. To update your RSS feed in Spotify, log into your Spotify for Podcasters account. Select your podcast, click settings, and then click update next to 'licensor/hosting provider'. Paste your Zencastr RSS feed in the ‘link to RSS feed’ field and click Next. Select Zencastr as your hosting provider and click Next then Submit. It may take up to 24 hours for the feed update to reflect on Spotify.
I get a "Your podcast RSS feed is missing email address" error when trying to submit my RSS feed to Spotify. How do I fix this?
Spotify requires your RSS feed to include an active email address for submission. Zencastr hides your email by default to protect you from unwanted emails, but you can add it back when submitting to directories.
To add your email address, log into your Zencastr account and go to the Episodes tab on your Dashboard. Click the Edit button next to your show title, then click Open Advanced Settings. Next to Show Email, click Yes, and then Save.
It might take a few minutes for your RSS feed to update with your email. After waiting a bit, try resubmitting your RSS feed to Spotify. This should allow you to complete the submission process. Once your podcast is listed, you can hide your email address again in your Zencastr show settings.
