In this article, you’ll learn what the health check does, how to see your status, and what to do if it needs attention, using Zencastr in Chrome on your Android device.

Before you record, Zencastr checks that each person is ready. When everything passes, it’s safe to start recording.

What it checks

The health check confirms that your browser, devices, and system resources meet the requirements needed to start recording.

  • Microphone access is allowed in your browser.

  • Your microphone is working.

  • Your camera is working when using a video recording mode.

Checking your health check

You can check your status or your guests' status at any time by following the instructions below.

  1. Tap the Participants icon.

  2. Tap the three-dot menu.

  3. Tap Health check.

What do to if the health check fails

When a health check fails, the Record button is grayed out and an error message appears.

Your status in the Health check menu also shows as failed.

  • Allow microphone and camera access, then refresh the page.

  • Close other apps and browser tabs to free up memory.

  • Make sure you’re using Chrome.
